What the heck are EMFs and why should we care about them?

On this episode I had the great pleasure of speaking with an electro magnetic frequency specialist named Jasen Masek of Benchmark Environmental and NotoxCity in Vancouver BC. He says we are natural biological beings and over the last century times have changed, we are now living in a highly synthetic world! And Some of us are just much more sensitive to this. When people have health issues that doctors can’t help with like chronic chronic conditions, anxiety, depression, nervous system issues, people start to look elsewhere for answers and that’s where Jasen comes in. He helps them become aware of small changes they can make that have a powerful effect on their nervous and immune system. So, we are going to learn all about Electro Magnetic Fields or EMFs are and why we should care about them. You’ll be surprised about some of this, I know I was! I hope you enjoyed that interview with Jasen Masek. I know that for many of us, it’s hard to believe that some technology can be a bad thing sometimes. And I’m the first one to admit that I love everything wireless and keep my phone right by my ear at night and we have a giant TV in the bedroom. But, what I want you to take away from this interview is just the awareness of what EMFs are and know that we can make simple steps that can still allow us to have technology around us but these steps limit their harmful exposure to us.


3 things we can do are to mitigate that risk:


1) Limit the exposure to EMFs in the bedroom so we can have a restful sleep sanctuary. I”m going to have to start in baby steps and be ok with that. I first am going to take an inventory of what is right by my head at night and see if I can remove or push away some of the plugs and electronics.


2) He also said to try and plug stuff in where possible - wired is safer and faster. And to unplug yourself and unplug or turn off devices so no technology an hour before bed.


3) Lastly he suggest that you don’t have any metal in your bed. so don’t go out and buy a new mattress today, but consider looking for a organic latex mattress instead.
